We’re looking for three amigos (friendly people who enjoy having #FunWithCars). We need volunteers at our next event (May 1-2 at Palmer Motorsports Park). There are three different areas where we especially your talents:• Timing & Scoring• Pit Lane• Sound ControlHere’s just a bit of info about the different opportunities to volunteer and have fun.Timing & Scoring – This is an indoor, climate controlled task: warm on a cold day, cool on a hot day and dry every day! This task usually needs several people so you can learn while helping others, even bring a buddy if you want. We have a critical need for tapers where you’ll help record car #’s as they pass by control and correlate the cars with automated timing results (every race car has a transponder). You’ll be the first to know who was fastest and the official winner!Pit Lane – This outdoor task puts you in the hot pits close to the racing action, directing traffic in and out of pit lan, occasionally helping drivers adjust a mirror, close a loose hood or trunk, checking for dangling parts, dripping fluids, flat tires, and handing out checkered flags for the winners.Sound Control – This is a track-side, outdoor task, usually done solo, but friends and couples can easily share the assignment. Learn to use a sound meter and hand-held atmosphere tester, record sound levels for each car and monitor especially loud cars suspected over being over the track’s sound limit. If any one of these tasks sound interesting, or you particularly want to volunteer to do something elsewhere, just post a comment below and the appropriate specialty chief will reach out to you.Worker Registration: www.motorsportreg.com/events/ner-workers-opening-weekend-palmer-motorsports-park-scca-new-england... ...
