I talked to people about race insurance for stage rally before and its very expensive with a huge deductible, I think it was something like $2000 per event with a $10,000 deductible for AWD open class car, so not worth it

More precisely, the insurance would cover anything AFTER your primary health insurance has been exhausted up to the limits of the SCCA policy.  I suppose if you have no health insurance, then the SCCA policy would kick in immediately.

When I codrove Pat's Grand Prix in 2009 at Stafford Springs, we didn't break anything at the event.  Only after the event did the PS pulley freeze up and shred a few serpentine belts.  But all in all, I guess it faired ok.  Maybe the possibility of bre...

Competitor's vehicles are not covered by any insurance while competing.  Sorry, but you are responsible for any damage done to the vehicle at the event.
