OK, I spoke to Kathy Moody and Scott Beliveau and will be in contact with the other involved organizers to hash out some procedures and rules. I expect that some compromises will need to be made all the way around.
Thanks.

rally200sx makes an interesting suggestion, but I dont feel that was Warren's intent for this event.  One car, dual purpose.  Warren, please correct me if I am incorrect.

I feel that we should promote safety and encourage our partipants to make their car as safe as possible for each venue.  Same car, just a matter of how much work you want to do between events.  Kat will change shock settings, Warren will change tires, some people will hopefully change ride height to make the car safer.  I dont feel that this is much different than some people will do a lot of work to their car in Mod and some people wont do much work and run their car in stock.  In any case, lets promote our partipants to be safer instead of restricting them from being safer.

I didn't look at this entire thread, but these are the rules that Warren and I agreed on:

1.  All cars to be tech'd by solo tech on Saturday and again on Sunday by the rally tech.
2.  All runs count for a 4 run cumulative time.
3.  Tires the only change allowed.
4.  Only 1 class (all cars).
5.  There may be a trophy, it may be just for bragging rights
6.  There will be 2 solo runs on Saturday after the Challenge event, and two runs Sunday morning prior to the rallycross event.
7.  20 car entry max.
8.  $40 entry fee, all to be donated to the RAL donee.

regards,
rml

After discussions among the rallycross staff and other concerned parties, the rules have been amended as follows:
1.  All cars to be tech'd by solo tech on Saturday and again on Sunday by the rally tech.
2.  All runs count for a 4 run cumulative time.
3.  Tires may be changed.
4.  Only 1 class (all cars).
5.  There may be a trophy, it may be just for bragging rights
6.  There will be 2 solo runs on Saturday after the Challenge event, and two runs Sunday morning prior to the rallycross event.
7.  20 car entry max.
8.  $40 entry fee, all to be donated to the RAL fund.
9.  Suspension adjustments are permitted.

Following the discussion about suspension adjustments, Kathy Barnes pointed out there was no way to enforce this policy anyway unless the cars were to be impounded overnight, and that's just not gonna happen for this.

What time are the runs scheduled for Saturday and on Sunday? Is there a fee to enter the NHIS on Saturday?

Per Scott Beliveau

For those of you running in the RAL XX, these are the times you should
be at the race sites:

Saturday, NHMS:

~2:30 tech

~3:00 or as soon as Jeff Gordon Challenge is over, course walk, then
runs

Sunday, The Lodge at Belmont:

7:15 tech and course walk

7:45 runs

Per Kathy Moody:
Saturday afternoon saw some of the rallycrossers competing in the inaugural running of the Doublex event, the brainstorm of Mr. Warren Elliott.  Doublex consisted of 2 solo runs on Saturday afternoon after the solo Jeff Gordon challenge. The Doublex continued early Sunday morning with two more runs on the Belmont rallycross course. Thanks to all that helped with the early set up of the rallycross course, so the Doublex could go on and keep the rallycross starting on time. All entry fees for this event were donated to the RAL fund, the event raised $640.00!

Not too shabby. Credit to Warren for the idea and everyone else who helped and participated. Sticky tires are fun! Saw a couple guys
abusing a pickup and grinning the whole time. The event is worth repeating.

I am glad that no cars rolled.  Maybe next year some of the Solo cars will rise to the occasion.
