The DoubleCross is back for it's 3rd year! It's comprised of both a Solo and RallyX component and will take part during the Saturday Solo and Sunday RallyX events.  Drivers competing in the DoubleCross will also be able to compete in the full Solo and RallyCross events each day.  We will be running two classes just like last year.  Pair up with a RallyCross driver and share cars or bring two cars up. Or run the same car in both events. The choice is yours!

Event Details:
1. 25-driver entry limit.  This may increase.
2. Cost: $40, donated straight to the RAL charity proceeds.
3.  There will be 2 Solo runs on Saturday after the Challenge event, and two runs Sunday morning prior to the RallyX event.
4.  There may be trophies, it may be just for bragging rights

The DoubleCross 1.0 "Open" class.
1.  All cars to be tech'd by solo tech on Saturday and again on Sunday by the rally tech.
2.  All runs count for a 4 run cumulative time.
3.  Tires may be changed.
4.  Suspension adjustments are permitted.

The DoubleCross 2.0 "Indexed" class.
1. 2 drivers will team up with each other so that each driver makes the Solo runs in a Solo car and the RallyX runs in a RallyX car.
2. Solo runs will be indexed using the PAX index.
3. RallyX runs will be indexed according to tire selection.  Rally and snow tires will not be indexed. All-season and summer tires will be indexed at 0.95.
4. Total score will be the sum of all 4 indexed times.

To sign up, email your name, car year/make/model to me, chregan@aol.com . Entries are first come, first serve and will be limited. Payment of $40 on Saturday.
Competitors should arrive at NHMS by 2:30PM on Saturday for registration and tech.

Competitors should show up at NHMS on Saturday by 2:30PM. You'll need to sign in and get tech'd by Solo in the Solo paddock area.
On Sunday, arrive at 7AM sharp to The Lodge at Belmont. It's about 5 miles north of NHMS on Rt 106.

I forget, this has probably been asked before, would, say, a stock jeep cherokee be allowed to compete in RallyX? it's a friends, I'm trying to convince him to rallyX it.

Just a reminder to all competitors that they are welcome to also run the Jeff Gordon Challenge event with the Solo crowd in the morning.  This will give you more looks at the course.  Time constraints prevent the course from being changed from the Solo event.

YES.

Keep in mind that we will sell pledge run tickets in the AM 'till around 11. We will stop running pledge runs at 12:30 or so so that we can get the PM runs and the runoff done so that we can make space / time to hold the autox portion of the doubleX and still allow plenty of time to get over to the infield for the 5 PM track tours ($5 per person) and eats in the infield after that.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that doubleX competitors get to NHMS prior to the normal solo tech which closes at 9, but we will make an effort to tech doubleX competitors who cannot be there first thing in the AM. Helmets have to be SA95 or better or M2000 or better. Helmets must be teched. We have loaners if needed.

regarding the query "can my xxx car run?" Chances are that it can. However, we have a strict track / vehicle height calculation that we will use to make sure your car is safe. If you want to bone up on that, it's in the solo rules, pp 254 in the 2010 solo rules (the pdf's are posted in the publications section of the Solo site at scca.org), but if your track is 60 inches and your car is more than 60 inches at the highest point, we won't let you run. Sorry. Taller vehicles can run, but they have to have a wider track. But look at the solo rules... it's pretty clearly defined there.

Because the question has come up more than once, in order to take the $10 pledge runs, you need to either have registered for the Jeff Gordon Challenge or the Doublecross, or both. You can't only spend money on pledge runs without having registered for an event. I hope this clarifies that some.  Smiley

Anyone up for the Rally, RallyX or DoubleX is invited to dinner in the NHMS infield at 4:30PM Saturday. It's free but please email me if you're planning on coming so they can get enough food.

Thanks to Bob Lang for offering up a ride in his TR6.  It was quite thrilling to drive something that had go and stick and reacted to my inputs.  We both got to sample drives at the opposite end of the spectrum from our own.

Congratulations to Bob for winning the DoubleCross 2.0 class.
