2012 NER Solo dates

Here are the dates for the 2012 NER Solo season. We still need to work through which dates will be points events, non-points events, etc., but I wanted to get the dates out there so you could begin to plan your season. Looking forward to seeing everyone in April!

Nope, we have a number of options under consideration and probably won't be able to get specific until later this month.

Bob, thanks for getting these dates out in the forum in reply to my initial question of a few weeks ago.

I'd like to respectfully suggest (with caveat that I know everyone involved is a volunteer, busy with their regular life, and a process surely exists that must be followed etc etc) that getting the dates- even provisionally- up on the homepage, Solo page, and Solo Calendar asap would be a good thing.

As a newbie just starting to be involved last year I heard comments from longtime participants/leadership expressing concern about attracting new Solo participants, promoting ourselves, and making sure we have a healthy region participation-wise.

Lack of timely information may be one reason NER could address that a newbie might not show up or get involved. Unless he/she tracks down this thread, looking on the site only 6 weeks out from the first date and seeing an empty calendar and a solo page devoid of any information may lead him/her to take a pass or end up unable to join us. People have busy lives, full of families, trips, work, and commitments--all of which NER is in "competition" with for their time to participate.

Just a thought- and again, shared with full gratitude for the time and energy it surely takes NER volunteers to get all this info sorted out and shared! I personally am looking forward to the summer season and thank all who are making it possible for the time and energy they are putting in!

And, to be fully honest, I personally need to get dates "approved" by management: eg, my wife! :-)

Once we have more info as to what dates are points events, schools, ect. the calender will be updated.

All the dates and points events are updated.

We still need to work on some event descriptions (and unsolicited submissions are encouraged), but the basics are there.
