YOU could solve that problem. One region cut them out of the schedule but after much discussion added them back and then put a line in the supps that if the number of cars went below the number of laps, the race would be shortened to xx number of laps.

Rumor has it that we will not have Sunday available to us for the April School........
Now accepting suggestions.
Possibilities:
1.Run a 1 day regional on Saturday
2. Run a Friday/Saturday regional (similar to the NARRCoffs)
3. Run a Friday/Saturday school only
4. Move the school/regional to early May
I need to hear from everyone, please!

Jerry could you clarify this statement. Are you suggesting that the school not occur this weekend and be deferred to a later date?
I'm curious to know why did we get nixed out of Sunday?
Toward your options, this is a tough call as the April weekend is usually lightly attended. Could the school be a double school with drivers getting signed off in one event to start racing?
From my own perspective I don't think a Friday/Saturday Lime Rock type event is going to get people to the track.
My other question is if the school is operated at a loss and I am projecting that would happen without the race attachment
a) it would not make sense to hold it
b) should it be combined with another region to bolster the attendence and offset the cost?
That however brings the topic full circle to determine if a one day event would yield the racers.
Tough to be on the comp board on this one.

Jerry,
With the shortage of schools in the division why not run a Friday/ Saturday school. If another region wants to pitch in, great.

Sorry, just back from NJMP.
NHMS is holding their NASCAR training on that Sunday because of where Easter falls they were short dates.
The school works financially as long as we run the regional with it, 40 students won't pay the rent.
Will workers and instructors show for a school only?
So my suggestion is run some sort of Regional in April, one or two day, Saturday or Friday/Saturday.
Then run the school/regional in early May?
NJ is talking about running a school in March @ NJMP.
I also understand that the Glen school is moving to July.
If we run a school how many new drivers are out there in this economy?
One school in April or May but I don't see one in June at LRP.

Hi Jerry:
I think flaggers would show up for a school-only in April. In 2008 the school was a couple of weeks earlier than it was in 2007 but we had quite a few more flaggers. We had the same number on Sunday as we had on Friday, but quite a few more on Saturday. Go figure. It is the first flagging event for lots of our flaggers, and after a long winter they don't care what the event is, they just want to get out there and flag. (Of course they weren't counting on having to shovel the snow out of the flag station at Turn 3...) This year we are having a Flag School in March at Lime Rock, and it will be a great opportunity to encourage attendees to come and put what they learned at the Flag School in action at the Drivers School. Drivers Schools are GREAT for new flaggers because we use ALL the flags, practice starts, and the whole thing is very low-key with lots of opportunity for instruction. So from an F&C perspective, we would really like to have a 2-day Drivers School in April, even without a regional on Sunday.

Jerry,
Quick suggestion:
School Friday, Race Saturday, but make it a Double Points event for NERRC to encourage entries.
Also if possible allow early track entry Friday during the day (no charge) with the possibility of annual tech for those needing it.
The goal being to take the pressure off the Saturday morning mayhem that gets everyone frustrated.
