I'm planning on running my Taco in prepared rear as well at the next event I attend.  Should be some good times.

If you start pulling off trim pieces and bumper etc, you're going to end up in mod class.

On the tires, if you plan to drive on them, you should look into a small truck tire like a general grabber or something. If you go with gravels, make sure you have an extra set of wheels, you don't want to drive them on the road more than a few miles or they will get torn up.

When it comes to trim, I'm more worried about ground clearance, especially in the front.  I'll have to see where my mods take me and go from there.  My goal is to stay in PR, but I will have to judge what mods to make appropriately.  It wouldn't be any fun smashing my front end because the splitter caught a rut.

The Grabbers are a good call.  If they grip anything like a gravel, I would be happy to save myself the money on not buying alternate wheels.

What is the Taco, if I may ask?

Just an observation; If you happen to shed parts during competition,,you still run in your class,?? I observed this first hand at Tulsa last October,a F body kicking ass ! so the potential is there. The tracks out west are flatter and harder (packed dirt) than the ones we run,,,,?   I'm sure it will be a pant load of fun,,,
I used to run Camaros in FireHawk,,and have many spare pieces,,,contact if you need any,or want some speed secrets,,,,,

The trucks seemed fast at RAL, so it will be cool seeing the Taco.

Thanks, Cliff.  Spares and tips are always welcome, since my speedo, odo, and trip crapped out on me, and after putting on an Edelbrock filter, it bogs at full throttle now.  I'm glad the next round isn't until November!

awesome to see more RWD cars getting involved.

gravels are not ideal for street driving but it can be done if you have to.  Years ago someone from VTC told me that driving them on the tarmac occasionally actually helps square off gravel lugs that have rounded.  It does work. I drove home from RAL with mine on, considering the possibility of downpours, they seemed like a better choice than the nearly bald Falken tarmac tires. Of course my car sounded like all four wheelbearings crapped the bed :Smiley

The Grabber AT2 may work for me.  Enough of a wear rating to get me around, but fairly big treads.  Anybody have luck with these?

Kat, I think driving on gravels in that downpour was a better idea than on psudo-slicks!  We need you around for registrations, advice, and a strong female presence!

I left my snows on as well after RAL for the drive home (they are actually still on).  70 in the rain, no problem!

Snows "can" be run year round.  They just tend to wear really fast in the heat with the softer construction.  I bet they were nice and sticky on the wet road.

I run my snows to and from the events, and usually for a couple weeks after until I feel like changing tires again. Smiley  Oh, and I use them all winter.

I actually find the Winterforce snows to be pretty slippery on wet pavement.  Gotta be better than a slick, though.
