I was thinking about going to this event, and most likely on the 19th as well (not looking forward to storing the car for winter), but wasnt sure if the Runoff's were open to non-members or not.

Oh and here's more info on the Runoff. http://www.ner.org/solo/stirling-moss-runoff
Ultimately, the morning will be the last regular points event of the season.  The runoff (where I can only assume I'll get my ass kicked, btw)  will take place afterword, once the class champions are all calculated with that last event in mind.

I was in my novice year too, since the class champ didn't show up for that event, and left it to me to get stomped.  Smiley

Ah, I see.  And I thought your blatant theft of FSP from me last year was your first time there. ;-P

So, just curious, how many events does one need to qualify for a class? If I have enough, I think I may accidentally win STS2, and even though "stomped" would not adequately describe what would happen to me, I still think it would be a lot of fun to participate in this event.

6 Events this year.

I really wish I had done one more event in that case. Looks like there won't be an STS2 champion this year. I'll plan to do the whole schedule next year.

So now that I know I'm out of the mix, what sort of event can I expect? Will there be a normal amount of runs for regular competitors, or 3 and go home? It's tough for me to justify the expense of travel/lodging for just a few runs, but I do plan on being at the Renegade event Saturday.

Hi

Regarding the "process" of the Moss runoff, we'll do our usual "N" runs where N is based on turnout. We'll then break while the results are tabulated and plug that info. into any possible change of determining the class champions. Once we have all that, we do the runoff which is three runs to determine a standard deviation from the best "morning run".

We actively encourage participation in this event, as we are determining the best overall sole driver in NER, so while you may elect to do the "three and done" thing, we'd like to see you stay to watch some of the best drivers in the region (perhaps in the country) duke it out for the top spot. We like it even more if you take some time to help run the event or help with cleanup, but most importantly to stay to cheer on this year's Moss winner.

So - SEE YOU SUNDAY.

Also, please pre-register!
