Jamie, thanks again for letting me run your car last run. Thats some good sportsmanship right there, I don't feel right about taking 1st under those circumstances, especially since you would have won it. Feel free to run the Audi next time if you want, yea I guess it does have a few more HP then the Subee! The Subee felt different but good, tight little car.
Thanks to everyone who helped me out: Gas, phones and troubleshooting my car. Kat, you know your stuff, I did not know you were fluent in ancient Audi! Many thanks to Allen, Justin and the CT Subee guy too (sorry I did not get your name). Unfortunately it still has the problem, it did not heal over night, but it did start right up the next day (ran like #### though). I was thinking maybe i overpumped the lifters since it sounds a bit different turning over, we all know how bad the lifters sound in that thing - and the fact that it happened at like 7K RPM. I have not really looked at it since, but i need to check timing next. Bouncing off the limiter is hard on t belts and it may have jumped, I have never seen one jump - only seen them break or strip completely. Last T belt job unknown, I have not done it since I've owned it.
Had a good ride home in the tow truck, but I left my trophy in there! Oh yea, also need to thank AAA!

I have the lifters out of my turbo engine if you need them. All the hyd. lifter 5cyls run the same lifters.

Thanks TY, Just to fill you in, the car hit the limiter a few times then died immediatly after. Has fuel PSI (pump is definitley on and pumping), has spark, cam is turning, exhaust is clear/not crushed. Sounds like low compression. its turning over easy. I'm thinking Tbelt jumped or possibly some weird lifter thing I have never seen before. The cat seems to be getting really hot when it is running like crap. The air plate is free and i can feel it moving the needle vlave.
I don't know when i'll have time to fix it, but I'll check timing this week, also will do a compression test.

checking timing was another suggestion of the hubby. and I know nothing about audi's but the hubby has taught me enough about cars in general to be dangerous :  and sometimes helpful

It really was cranking over way too fast. The old coupe cranks over at half that speed.

Thanks Ryan, Sucks your window broke, I assume that is what ended your day? First a late start from CT, then running out of gas with the tow vehicle and offloading that black beast on the side of the highway and driving it to the event, thats was brave!..... A for effort man! Oh well, days like that happen.
Yea, i'm thinking T belt skipped. Glad its non interference, when i get the turbo motor in there will be no tolerance for skippin teeth.

actually i moved a rear window net to the front, made 2 laps and blew a tire... didnt have any of the 12 spares from my house cuz of my late start haha, oh well i had fun and im happy how the car rips with the bigger motor. if i had trailer lights i woulda towed your car home but i had to make it back before dark....
