I am pretty much brand new to this scene but love pushing vehicles to their limits and blue lights are getting VERY old. i wanna go fast without getting in trouble. i own an off road fabrication shop so im always building something. right now my "go fast" car is a 2WD 1986 Toyota Pickup that im swapping 1UZ-FE out of a Lexus into. i preffer to race this on pavement so tell me where to find rules or what class i need to be in. who to pay. what kind of cage....and where the next race is.

Sounds like you'll want to look at Solo. There is a link to the rules under Solo -> general information. While not specifically outlawed pickups get dicey as they tend to roll alot and be pretty tall. Do you have any suspension mods?

If it's the truck I've seen over there is should be low enough not to have any stability issues.  I'd recomend trying Solo to start.  Done mosly at Devens Mass the speeds at Solo aren't high but you'll be going around cones and it'll feel fast and is a great way to learn car control.  Your next option would be Performance drivers schools or track days which are run at Limerock and NHMS by several different clubs. These are geared more towards a non-competitive envoirnment usually with limited passing.  Then there's club racing which would require more safety equipment and stuff like that.  You'ld probably want to attend a few events and wander the paddock to get an idea of how things work.  There's a few folks local to the Keene area that have raced with the SCCA.  I know that Autex used to have some cars and might be willing to give you some pointers.

The truck is REAL low! too low actually. i have about 2.5 inches of clearance under the front. I feel pretty confident in my driving abilities but im sure its a different story when you get out on the track with 20 other guys who feel the same way. Solo sounds like the place for me to start and get used to the way things work. im sure ill know better what to do after a few of those.
