NER has been selected to host the 2011 Eastern States Championship Challenge.
This will be the weekend of Jan 15-16 at Stafford Springs Speedway, CT.

Saturday will be a NER Championship event. Sunday will be a second, separate NER Championship event. Overlapping, will be the Eastern States RallyCross Challenge Championship consisting of both Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning runs.
Championship participants will be eligible for awards from SCCA Contingency Sponsors. Contingencies are typically higher than the payouts for a National Challenge. In the past, Subaru, VW, and Team Dynamics have paid out for top finishes. This year's details are not finalized.
Not to mention the bragging rights of being crowned the top RallyCross driver in the Eastern United States!

The smooth, hard surface makes this a good opportunity for cars that could not normally compete on softer surfaces. There may even be snow.

Hot lunch is being prepared by the Dennis family and is included in the entry fee.

Pre-registration is HIGHLY recommended to avoid being shut out. Reg is OPEN.

All Championship entrants MUST pre-register. There will be NO Championship walk-ins.

Warren, Hal, and Cliff won't have as long a drive to defend their titles this year!

Start times have traditionally been 9:30 to 10:00 for this one, ending around 4:30. Seems late, but the sunrise is at its laziest that time of year.

Competition typically starts by 9:30 latest.  Registration team is usually there by 7:00 and opens by 7:30AM.  Registration closes at 8:30 sharp.

The event will follow the typical race-day schedule posted on the Rallycross info pages at http://www.ner.org/rally/rx/raceday-timeline

"If one wanted to participate in both the regional and championship events would they have to pay both the regional and championship fees?"

2 mins later ----> whoops! Found the info answered my own question!

Just remember:

Passengers are not allowed during competition runs in Divisional or National Events.

This restriction only applies to those participating in the championship event, correct?  Non-championship event competitors are free to take a passenger on any of their runs?

Might be a dumb question but, what day do the regular joes off the street (like me) run?  Just confused by the championship and 2 days of running.

Thanks

Just go to the motorsportreg link at the top, and register like any other event. it will give you options on which event(s) you would like to enter. You can enter either or both regional events, or for a whole $5 enter the eastern states championship, which simply counts the runs you will already be taking for the regional events.

You have choices. You can race Saturday only, Sunday only, or both days. Also, if you are a SCCA member and want to compete in the Championship, it's an extra $5. Same amount of runs, but different scoring and eligible for contingency money and fame.
