Hello everyone,
Wanted to say I had a great time at today, my 1st SCCA event but not my 1st autocross, w my red MINI Clubman S. Everybody there was very helpful and friendly.
Not, something I can't seem to figure out -- why are things looking a bit dated here on the site? Results, photos -- where do they go?
I can't tell where results would get posted for events. Photos, on this site the gallery barely has anything for 2009 and then that's it? I saw a lot of photogs that looked like they were part of the crew, where do those shots go?
Nobody take any offense at my pointing these out please, I realize these things cost and take time, but I'm sure I'm not the only one joining and excitedly looking for photos and results after an event...
Hope to bump into many of you in events to come.
- Eddie

The only thing I can help out with is results: http://www.ner.org/solo/2011-season-resultsBut they aren't posted yet. I don't know who does them, but I'm guessing that whoever it is, they are probably a bit spent from two days of autocrossing so it will take a day or two. It takes some time to get the official results up because they have to make sure the program was recording the results correctly by comparing them to the audit sheets. (I could be way off on this) Glad you enjoyed your first event!

Eddie, The links for results for this year can be found here: http://www.ner.org/solo/2011-season-resultsAs to photos - write-ups - and everything else... Things are being worked on. Unfortunately, (and through no fault of our webmaster) we have not had the content (write-ups, photos, ect.) that we would like from ANY of our programs. Things are happening behind the scenes which should help matters, but it will be a while before it is seen on the website. This is a volunteer organization. Like our events, the website is maintained by volunteers, and we are always looking for a few more.

One of the better contrasting class/number colors on a Rookie car than I've seen in a while....be interesting to see how my pics come out of that (red is a tough color to get right) Hope to see you again. /Eddie (the gettin' older one)

Hi Eddie! Nice to meet you yesterday, and a pleasure to see a classy car at the event... I particularly enjoyed watching the Clubman haul *ss down the course from my vantage point at the gate in the afternoon. You were hustling that thing... Y'all come back now heah? Cheers, Charlie (one of the other classy cards -- the green one)

On the subject of photos people have taken to using their flickr accounts and the like instead of posting directly on the site there's always a thread in the forums after each weekend with links to everyone's photos. Probably also a good idea to like NER SCCA on facebook if you have an account.

In no particular order: 3. Welcome to the club! Hopefully this event will just be the first of many!
1. The timing crew is pretty spent from testing and tuning the timing laptops and displays while also testing and tuning the cars. Occasionally they get posted early if the Timing Chair isn't driving her own car home, but I'd expect them to be looked over and posted today.
2. I propose we have "Photography" as a work assignment? Normally I just wait for Ed Savage's pictures, as there are usually plenty of good, high quality shots of every car. Perhaps we just need to direct others who take pictures to this site so they can also link or upload pictures to here?

The photography assignment been proposed a number of times. We've had the assignment at some higher-level events where there are plenty of workers. In any case, if we have a worker-rich event, this is a good idea. Otherwise, just ask folks to post links (or better still actual pix) to the NER site. Maybe this would be a reasonable thing to announce a bunch of times during the event?

Results, photos -- where do they go?

...also, if you're an SCCA member (...has its' privileges), I do the report for PitTalk Magazine, the regional magazine. That's where you'll find my distortions and twisted logic of the event....but I am also not above being bribed by a clean and well lettered car, a few choice questions, or a 6-pack or 2 or Tab soda (the drink of diabetics!) to add a mention of someone, or include your pic to the editor for possible publication.... ...or really nailing a cone off the start, too. /Eddie

Addendums from me, as webmaster...
I used to upload a lot of photos to the galleries here, but I don't really take that many anymore. I also used to add links to all the galleries other people posted online from each event into the gallery pages here, but it got to be too much overhead. I had hoped there would be more interest in the photo gallery on this site when I put it up. I suspect it'll become a non-interactive archive in a future revision to the site to make room for something that others can more easily just add links to. Remains to be seen...
As for results, the timing/scoring folks finish up an event, audit results, etc and generally send me the results files within a day or two of an event conclusion. They aim for the next day, but it's harder than it looks. Ultimately, I usually have them posted anytime between 5 minutes and 12 hours after that. And yeah, go to the home page, go to the Solo drop-down, and click Season Results. I'm curious where you looked when you were trying to find results? It'd help with future revisions to navigation to know.
And finally, the Clubman looked awesome out there. Hope to see you back! -N
