It's coming up on the December 15 deadline for claiming contingency Hoosier tires for the year, so I finally get around to contacting Tim at Hoosier to claim the 2 tires I won from the NJ Pro, only to find that apparently all the people I asked at the event about signing the Hoosier claim form that told me that I didn't need to get it signed because Hoosier just know were wrong. Tim has alternatively asked if I have a photo of my car at the event, and the impound folks were indeed taking photos, but I have no idea where to get any of those photos.

For those of you who have experience in winning Hoosier tires, or even just a clue about national level events, where might I find information about who ran impound at the NJ event and can I get them to sign my claim form now, 6 months later? Or where I can get a hold of my impound car photos? I tried emailing Nancy Downing and have not yet received any kind of response.

thanks!

Grant,

No experience on claiming Hoosier tires, so I am no help in that regard.

You could try reaching out to Perry Aidelbaum, one of the head NNJR SCCA guys who ran the NJ Pro event.  I think you can reach him though the Autox4u email, worth a shot at least until someone more knowledgeable chimes in.  Perry will certainly have an idea on who ran impound.

Could you send that my way too? I used to just call Hoosier and give 'em my CC. No claim form, no pictures. I guess a few people have been abusing the system though, so now things are different.

assuming you were registered for contingency before the event, all I think you need to do is go to the hoosier website, click the road racing link, click the contingency link, click the "solo redemption form".  fill it out and fax it in with official race results (scca pdf printout is what I use) with cc# and if all else fails Jeff Spear is the man to talk to about Hoosier contingency.

According to a rep at Hoosier in Indiana, Jeff Spier is no longer handling the contingency program.

I have just been communicating with Tim Gilvin at Hoosier Racing Tire.
FYI, you MUST have any contingency tires SHIPPED to you by December 15th. Hoosier Tire East will not be getting a truck by that date so it must be UPS'ed to your home or favorite tire installer (PJ and Jenna's living room?).  Grin

Hmm... hopefully HTE has my tires in stock...

Thanks to those of you who offered help and input Smiley

Hoosier is an excellent company. In spite of not having a signature on the redemption form, my tires are finally in the mail. I would highly recommend for any future national level events that everyone prints out a redemption form in advance and has impound sign it, even if everyone else is saying you don't need to. It'll save a lot of future hassle!

I have never had anyone sign those before, thankfully it hasnt held up my orders in the past.  However, I submitted 3 claims from nationals this past monday and found out the contingency peeps are gone until mid next week!  argh.  talked with jeff and he said it should be ok, but if I somehow miss out on collecting im going to be a really sad camper.
