All cars are required to display their minimum weight for this coming season, supposedly to make it easier for the people running the tech scales to get cars through quickly. However the rule on WHERE it must be displayed is unclear. I've got to figure out minimum weights for the 4 classes that I ran in last season: SM, STU, ITS & STL. I'd rather not put that math equation in $vinyl$ on the windshield or exterior (disposable area) of my car. Will the region allow us to afix a printout on the inside of a window with the appropriate weights for each respective class that we participate in? Might this be discussed at the next Club Racing board meeting (at the banquet)?

I'm sure that a common location would be helpful to the tech guys, like the front passenger corner of the roof, just above the a-pillar. And somewhere else for the open wheel cars.

My understanding is, it must be readable from 10' away and depending on the track you should have it on both sides. Beyond that duct tape and a sharpie will do just fine!
I was looking for someone to sponsor NER so we can have some nice decals made.

Also if you are running in STL or STU within the SM or IT rule set the weight is the same not the ST weight. So I guess the sticker could say “SM/STL XXX lbs.”

I think Cy is worried that Ken or Dwayne will rub off anything that is on the "side" of the car so he fails impound. LOL you should race with nicer people. Like the Sheppards...

Careful.....it could be"from the tower" lol Then why would I wear Orange? Maybe body armor to protect my back from the daggers... There would be a lot of screaming and crying, not a good workplace environment for the rest of the stewards to work in... Thumper

Wouldn't be the first time that either of them has rubbed something off in the general vicinity of my race car (insert greased lightning comment here, CoIC). I think a more fitting title of your column, Thumper, would be "From the HillBillies."

Any word on this? No pressure, just trying to determine whether I need to make my own or not. Also, when I look up my weight (EP) in the GCR, I see three numbers. One with just the number, one with one asterisk and one with two asterisks. Where do I look up what the difference is? I thought I remembered seeing in a past GCR that it changes if you have a modified or non-stock transmission. Last year I was well over my weight, but have done some modifications in the off-season and now I just want to make sure I am using the correct number. Thanks.

At this point, we/NER will not have our own stickers. As to what weight you need to display, I can only say re-read the rules it's all there. In STL, a Miata can run at three different weights, it all depends on which rules package you want to follow.

I've read them a couple times and I still can't seem to find a reason anywhere. 3 weights are available to me as shown in the vehicle classification, but nowhere in there does it say anything about what determines which weight you use. Because I have a rotary, I am automatically classified at prep level 2, so that can't be it.
Anyone else have an answer?
