Last year I ran F S (N) in my 2010 Camaro SS. This year I have added mods like cold air intake, oil catch can and a Hurst shifter. Will my class change?

The Cold Air Intake will bump you from Stock to Street Touring, however I think the Hurst shifter will send you directly to Street Mod, do not pass go, do not collect $200. I don't really know enough about how the shifter works though. Is it a factory option or aftermarket? Can you provide a link to the kit? Or maybe someone who knows what they're talking about can chime in. -Bryan

Cold air intake and shifter may be ESP, too.
Do Camaro's qualify for ST? Maybe I don't think of them as ST cars due to tire width restrictions?
I'll go back to hibernating....

With only those modifications listed the car would be classed in STU as long as the tire width is no greater than 285mm and you are using street tires. If you are using R compound tires the car would be classed in ESP.

Q short throw shifters are legal in ST. SO as long as that thing meets the wheel and tire requirements I think it would be in STU.

The shifter is aftermarket Hurst Billett. tires and wheels are stock 245's front and 275's rear. I hope this clarifies things. I want to have some vinyl numbers and letters made and don't to order the wrong ones. Thanks everyone!

If I remember correctly, back in the day a Hurst shifter was more than just a short shift kit. I didn't realize that's all the kit was for the new cars. -Bryan

I'm not sure how a hurst shifter could ever be illegal in ST, any shift mechanism. I think you might mean the hurst shift kits for auto which do involve valve body work on the older mechanical brain trannys.

The transmission is a manual. Other Camaro's like mine with shifter, cold air intake AND aftermarket exhaust were in E Street Prepared. I don't have aftermarket exhaust.

The exhaust and intake are legal in the ST* classes.
The shifter would have been what bumped it, if anything.

Those other Camaros may be in ESP by virtue of the fact that the drivers wanted to drive on r-comp tires. They may all be Street Touring legal if they were running on street tires. -Bryan

All the ESP Camaro's were on stock factory tires and wheels.

OK, A quick google search of the Hurst Billet... for the 2010 Camaro is just a re-done mechanical linkage. It would appear to mount to all factory locations and no modification is required to the car. This meets ST class rules Per 14.10 Sub section G - ANY MECHANICAL SHIFT LINKAGE MAY BE USED.
SO:
If you are running narrower than 285 street tires with a UTG rating above 140 - YOU ARE ____ STU _____
If you would like to run race tires UTG below 140, Hoosier's, Kuhmo V710, Hankook C71 etc - YOU ARE _____ ESP _____
Hopefully this answers the question.
