Looking for a little help/confirmation on my class. First timer with SCCA! From my research, I'm pretty sure I'll be CSP. If there are any BMW CCA gurus here, the car's prepped for J Stock (club racing).

The details
- 1988 M3
- removed a/c, stereo, speakers, back seat
- roll cage
- Cobra seats
- 6 point harnesses
- sunroof removed (panel in place)
- Momo steering wheel
- 15" wheels, +1 inch diameter (+20mm tire width), street tires
- Turner Motorsport springs
- Bilstein shocks
- fixed camber plates
- front strut tower brace
- front & rear sway bars
- lots of suspension reinforcements (have more details if needed)
- poly differential bushings
- brake ducts
- cat-back exhaust

Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure you're in a Prepared class (maybe XP?). You can't remove the back seat in SP/SM class.

You'd also have to be more specific in regards to suspension reinforcements.

Actually, SM does allow rear seat removal

16.1.K. Rear passenger seat(s), including restraints and associated hardware
   may be removed.

However as jenna notes, "lots of suspension reinforcements" needs more detail... If you move suspension pickup points you are definitely in X Prepared.

Thanks for the quick replies guys!

For the reinforcements, no points were moved/altered. No intended performance gains, save maybe a tiny bit of increased stiffness. It's all designed for strengthening/longevity. I forgot there's also a set of subframe reinforcements as well. The majority of the parts are included in Turner's kit
 - front subframe
 - rear sway bar / sway bar tabs (from trunk floor)
 - rear lower sway bar tab (on trailing arm)
 - optional front sway bar tab (M3 only)

www dot turnermotorsport.com/p-1363-turner-motorsport-reinforcement-package-for-e30.aspx

Is that enough info? I can call up Mario at VSR who did the install if more info is needed

I cried a little when I saw e30 M3 and more than wheels and tires as mods. As long as the suspension points didnt move and it weighs more than like 1800 pounds I think it should go in SM

Gus is right....sorry. i was thinking rear panels.

SM sounds right. Check the SM section for your minimum weight. 1800 is awful low.

Whoops, that's about the weight for a 2 liter rwd in ssm, not sm.

I'd say EP or XP or EM

Tires make a difference too, I didn't see that tires were mentioned.

Bottom line - come and have fun!

Actually it's almost exactly the weight for a RWD normally aspirated 1.8L 2zz engine that resides behind the driver in SSM (1805lbs to be precise).  Grin

(My guesstimates put me at about 55lbs overweight with 1/3 tank of gas)
