I was looking through the rules and saw that the Subaru Legacy 2.5GT is listed as D Stock and H Stock.  While the D stock one is labeled 2005-12, this is not as clear for the H Stock listing.  I realize through deductive reasoning that the H Stock one pertains to the non-turbo powertrain but perhaps in a future edit we could clarify the H Stock listing to have a year associated with it?

First, rulebook changes are made through the Solo Events Board (SEB).  Any changes you want to suggest should be made to seb@scca.com

Second, since the proper way (according to the rule book) is to start in Super Stock and work your way down, the listing is fine.  If you have a Legacy GT that is 2005-2012, you hit DS and stop.  If not, you keep going until you get the listing in HS.  About the only improvement that might be suggested is a NOC (not otherwise classified) designation after the HS listing.

I found this while digging through classing for my Impreza.

http://scca.cdn.racersites.com/prod/assets/2012%20SCCA%20Solo%20Stock%20Category%20Classifications%20By%20Manufacturer%20-%20May.pdf

It shows the Lgeacy GT in DS and the Legacy NON Turbo in H stock.

The reason for the 2005-2012 designation for the Legacy GT is do to the fact that prior to 2005, the GT Legacy was an equipment package and didn't upgrade the motor. 2005+ Legacy GT's had the Turbo motor along with suspension bits.

You will see in many places in the classing where cars of specific years are called out. Factory package options such as upgraded motors, sports packs etc. almost without a doubt will bump a car out of class with its lets awesome siblings.

PZ your assessment of reading classes is very helpful. I will add this to the novice sticky, when and if I ever get it written.
