LMAO - silly subarus....
Headgasket = general maintenance???

LOL, yeah Justin, at 170k with my left head gasket leaking, I'd say it's time. But with as busy as I have been and now a race this month, looks like she'll have to wait a little longer. I am contemplating building an Audi but it'll have to wait until I get some more team members pitching in dues  Wink Carr Racing is officially taking applications  Smiley

I third! Jackson Gore Inn was the best last year.  Food was great, clean bathrooms, and the scenery was awesome, not to mention the course layout was cool.

On the Subaru subject I'm not a fan due to maintenance procedures, but everything is easier to do while the engine is out and accessible, but it still sucks.

In other news, this is impressive:

I agree with you Chris. That was one of the reasons I chose the Evo over the STi, was because I knew I would be doing motor work eventually and I didn't want the hassle of having to pull the engine every time. I can't wait until next spring when I am going to start building the Evo for this!

Also, to those who have run this venue before, how is the track? relatively flat? I have a friend who may want to try with his car but is worried about too much bottoming out. Any info would be good. Thanks!

Back in the fall it held up pretty well.  It was dry and sunny and hard pack gravel, with some loose gravel on top.  Towards the end of the day it started getting a little rough, once the gravel started getting chewed up.  Not sure what it would do if it was wet out.

yea, it was mostly a hard packed dirt parking lot with some grass parts I think in the afternoon, but some larger rocks were uncovered as the course was worn in.  It was pretty fast, with some light altitude changes, last year a normal ride height car probably would have blown a tire on a rock before bottoming out, but there is always a possibility.

The main gravel area is definitely pretty smooth, but some of the slams I heard going through the grass on the second half of the day had me worried. Cheesy

Covered Bridge was the event that my car started getting loud after a couple runs as well, think I put a hole somewhere between the cat and the muffler. Didn't bother with fixing it since I already had my inspection sticker.  Grin

Covered Bridge was terminal for the civic, but I don't blame the site. With a welded diff the motor/trans mounts just couldn't handle the 91 hp that 1.5 liter mustered. 2 fast runs but that was it. Rest in pieces civic.  Cry

speaking of pieces, whats up with the Golf? Did her heart get a transplant or just a repair?

I'm going to be pretty busy that weekend, but I will do my best to get up there and try and break my VW on the 24th.  There's a nice jump up the street from me if I hit it at the right speed, so I can perfect the flight patterns with the GTi.  Maybe i should think about getting some better seat belts...
