Hi,
I just drove in my first auto-x on July 8 at Devens. I was wondering about the test and tune event and how its conducted. Is it a full-day commitment like the autox or can I come in during the day, drive and help clean up the course at the end of the day and be done?
I have nothing to tune (stock car) except maybe tire pressures. I would like to drive more but I am not sure I can stay there the whole day.
Thanks,
Bodi
Bodie,
Glad you enjoyed your first event. Hope you will become a regular.
As for the test and tune, this is one of two events this year that has participation restrictions.
The first was in June -- it was a novice school with participation limited to true novices. The instructor staff for that school was made up of over twenty of our most experienced, accomplished drivers, many of whom will be attending the SCCA national solo championships in early September.
The test and tune is intended as an opportunity for those instructors and other experienced drivers from the region to test and tune their vehicles, and is limited to experienced autocrossers only. Keep running with us -- I'm confident that next year you'll advance to the point where you can attend the event.
Thanks,
Bob
