Chris and I are going. Probably leaving Thursday night and being on high alert for drunks in NY. We are staying at the Red Roof in Laurel MD. Don't stay near the site, locals council against it IIRC.

that place certainly fits the budget
I guess when to leave is the easy part, ill most likely do the overnight drive thing myself
with 23 people going down we should have just rented an entire floor somehwere Smiley

I see how it is...

when I pickup my wheels one will be 4lbs off balance and the other will have a slow valve leak. Wink

bookies in vegas are saying the bananna boat will be leaving its sand in the garage for tour, its been a lucid dream until now

Those would be the least of your worries.   Smiley
Yeah, who says Chang will inflate your tires with AIR? I'm thinking a nice slurry of lead shot would do wonders Smiley

I'll be heading down too.  I'm going really cheap...staying with a friend.

I heard that DC pro is a very fast paced event and fun to watch.  Can't wait!

I just reserved a room at the Courtyard that's 3.5 miles north of FedEx field and at the Red Roof in Laurel. Cliff and I are still discussing departure time. I've left super early for the DC Pro and made it there by 1ish (3ish?) before. No extra hotel, no drunks at 11pm on the highway (at 4am, they've likely already passed out and crashed into smokey SM nissans...). Of course, you stand a great chance of hitting traffic that way too.

Courtyard looks like 107 a night right now (down from 119 the other day when I looked). What sort of friends and family discount do you get?

We got a $64 a night rate at Red Roof. I don't think we'll be spending $30 in gas to get back and forth to the Red Roof Smiley

As always, if you travel through the NYC Metro area, listen to 1010 (WINS) or 880 (WCBS) for traffic.

Would be easier if I had a radio!

There was a radio when I last had the car.  Tongue

I still have that radio, I just took it out of the car. I gotta sharpen the knife as much as possible though if I want a chance in this gun fight.

In regards to the route to get to FedEx, I have found that south of Jersey, get onto 13/1, 299w, 301S, 50w is slightly longer but a much nicer drive than fighting 95 traffic.  As a plus, 50 puts you on the beltway just a few exits north of FedEx so you are not on the beltway for too long.
