Anybody have any ideas on where I can test my newly built Formula B (F1000) car before going to New Hampshire in April? Some pavement to make sure the car turns, shifts, stops, accelerates, etc. Any autocrosses before April 17th? North central CT (Scotland) is where I live.
(ooops - no longer NER Assistant RE! - I'll fix.)

Rob,
Bring it up to my house and I'll race you up and down the driveways. I want to wring out my new (to me) car, too.
I may go down to Pocono the week before the first Regional and do the FRCCA event as a test day. I suspect there's a test day at NHMS on the Thursday before the Regional, too.
I've tried using autocrosses to set up formula cars in the past, but you don't get enough speed or into high enough gears to really learn too much.
Glad its almost done.
Rob

So you have a driveway that allows you to get up more speed and gearing than an autocross!? I'm so very jealous right now... -N

Well, yes, kinda, but only if you don't mind some off-roading to get between the two on one side, and two 90 degree turns to get on to the street.

Rob, unfortunately, NER Solo's first event is April 19. To find something sooner than that, you'll pretty much need to head south. Philly region has one on March 22, in Philadelphia, but other than that, there isn't much to offer.

It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission Can be. Of course, depending on the "crime" it can be safer to ask for permission rather than rely on forgiveness!

Rob - you really serious about testing on your driveway?
Windham airport won't work. So I'm thinking of running it down the street here at the house. Also, I'm going to call Waterford Speedway to see if they rent out for an hour or 1/2 day. Might have a few people interested in joining me.

Nah, I was just trying to be funny.
Waterford could be interesting, depending on what the track surface is like. I did some autocrosses at Thompson maybe 10 years ago with a formula vee and the track was so rough that I actually sheared off some of the rivets holding on the aluminum intrusion panels.
Let's see, get several of us together at a race track and all we'd need is a pace car. You, me, a few others and its just like our wings n things group...
Let me know if its a viable option, as I wouldn't mind being able to test out the new car before the first race.
