This is my 1st divisionals event and not sure about how spectators are handled at these larger events.  So what is the general consensus on spectators?  I am driving up from out of state, but i have family in MA that want to come by and check things out.  My Uncle and 2 cousins that are 15 and 16 years old (potential future Solo2 racers).  Do they need to sign a waiver also if not competing.  Do they need to sign or plan to bring anything ahead of time?  Is there an entry fee for spectators?  Is there a limit to how many spectators can attend?  If yes, how will capacity be determined?

Thank You
Tony

Hey Tony!

The Divs are just like any other NER event for spectators. They will need to sign the waiver to get onto the site. There will be limitations to where they are allowed to go, but I don't think spectators are turned away. If they want to go out and take photos out on course, they will need a spotter and approval from the Safety Steward/Chair. Other than that, no pets or children in active grids.

We always allow GUESTS at our events. Guests must sign the waiver as any regional event, minors must have a minor waiver on hand, please. If you don't know the rules on minor waivers, please read your rule book. Section 1.3 Event operating Rules. But in short, we need both parents to sign and if must be witnessed by an adult SCCA member. You can download the minor waiver form from the SCCA site:

www.scca.com/documents/insurance/SCCAminorwaiver.pdf

PRINT IT IN COLOR.

Note: I'm not 100% the above is the current form, but I'm "pretty sure". And we should have the forms to fill out at waivers when you come on site. Most important for minors is _both parents_ and witnessed.

Guests are not allowed in the course area, but are welcome to roam the paddock, grid area (NO KIDS OR PETS IN GRID) and the designated spectator area as well as the hospitality tent.

So, in essence, guest access is like any regional event for NER/SCCA.

C'mon down!

Mior wiaver must be signed and witnessed  - signed by parent or legal guardian and that signature witnessed by SCCA member or notary public

Let me clarify the minor waiver thing, because there's some misinformation here. For non-competing minors, only one parent (or legal guardian) is required to sign the minor waiver form, not both (section 1.3.1 of 2009 Solo Rulebook, emphasis mine). The person at the gate will be an adult SCCA member, and you therefore don't need to go searching for a Notary, so long as the parent or legal guardian signs the form in front of the gate person. See, it's not that bad!
