Covered Bridge RoadRally
Presented By CBRT
RALLY / RALLYCROSS
November 6-7, 2010
EVENT: The Covered Bridge presented by CBRT is actually two events being run on the first weekend of November. There will be the 44th running of the TSD Covered Bridge RoadRally throughout the day on Saturday, 6 November. Saturday afternoon concurrent with the TSD will be the CBJR . On Sunday, 7 November there will be the Covered Bridge RallyCross. All brought to you by and sanctioned by New England Region, Sports Car Club of America (NER, SCCA).
The Covered Bridge Rally is a non-trap, straightforward rally and part of the SCCA National Touring Championship; the NEDiv Championship; and the New England Rally Championship. The Rally will use an instruction format that is designed for beginners, yet challenging to experts. The Rally will travel considerable unpaved back roads [50%+/- of the ~ 180 miles], none of which are car breakers. Some of these roads may not be suitable for all vehicles. The speeds are reasonable for the conditions; however, some people not used to driving on unpaved surfaces may consider them to be on the brisk side. Others who have much experience on unpaved surfaces may consider them to be on the slow side. The Rally will use both manned and unmanned controls.
The Covered Bridge Rally will cover a spread out area of Windham County, Vermont in search of interesting back road that do not dead end or turn into goat paths. The Covered Bridge Rally will also search for Covered Bridges that are still open to vehicle traffic, no longer easy. In general Covered Bridge Rally will stay within a box defined by Vermont Routes 11 & 121 on the North; Vermont Routes 30 & 35 on the East; Vermont Route on the South; and National Forest Route 71 on the West.
CBJR is a shorter version of the Covered Bridge Rally using only the afternoon section [~70miles]. CBJR will start after the regular competitors. CBJR will be a single class event with Class S and Class D combined. No Class A cars or dual entries permitted.
