Covered Bridge 46 RoadRally
EVENT: 2012 will be the 46rd running of the TSD Covered Bridge RoadRally throughout the day on Saturday, 2 November. Saturday afternoon concurrent with the TSD will be the CBJR. Brought to you by and sanctioned by New England Region, Sports Car Club of America (NER, SCCA).
The Covered Bridge Rally is a non-trap, straightforward rally; the NEDiv Championship; and the New England Rally Championship. The Rally will use an instruction format that is designed for beginners, yet challenging to experts. The Rally will travel considerable unpaved back roads [50%+/- of the ~ 150 miles], none of which are car breakers. Some of these roads may not be suitable for all vehicles. The speeds are reasonable for the conditions; however, some people not use to driving on unpaved surfaces may consider them to be on the brisk side. Others who have much experience on unpaved surfaces may consider them to be on the slow side. The Rally will use both manned and unmanned controls.
The Covered Bridge Rally will cover an area approximately enclosed by Route 107 on the South. Route 110 on the East; Route 65 on the North; and Route 12 on the West in search of interesting back roads that do not dead end or turn into goat paths. The Covered Bridge Rally will also searches for Covered Bridges that are still open to vehicle traffic, no longer easy.
CBJR is a shorter version of the Covered Bridge Rally using only the afternoon section [~50miles]. CBJR will start after the regular competitors. CBJR will be a single class event with Class S and Class D combined. No Class A cars or dual entries permitted.
